Facebook keeps showing a post for as long as people keep reacting to it, and stops when they do not. That single behaviour is why post-level engagement matters more on Facebook than on platforms with a fixed distribution window — a post that keeps collecting reactions can stay in circulation for days.

It is also why buying reactions on every post is a waste. The service earns its money on the posts you actually want to keep alive: an announcement, an offer, a piece you want shared.

Reactions are not all equal

Facebook has treated the extended reactions — love, care, wow — as stronger signals than a plain like since 2017, on the reasoning that they take more effort. Where a service offers a reaction mix rather than likes alone, it is generally the better option.

Pick the posts worth pushing

  • A launch or announcement you want to travel beyond your followers.
  • A post already performing above your average — reinforcement works best on momentum.
  • Anything you intend to boost with paid spend; organic engagement first makes the ad cheaper.
  • Not routine daily posts, where the return does not justify the spend.
The post must be public

Reactions cannot be delivered to a post limited to friends or to a private group. Check the audience selector before ordering.

Post reactions versus Page likes

These are two different products solving two different problems, and buying the wrong one is the most common mistake on Facebook services. Page likes attach to your business Page and are permanent — they are what a visitor sees when they land on the Page itself. Post reactions attach to one specific post and do nothing for the Page total.

How many reactions to order

Facebook engagement rates on Pages are famously low — well under one percent of followers on an ordinary post is normal, and Pages with tens of thousands of followers routinely see posts in single-digit reactions. That cuts both ways: a modest order stands out more here than it would on Instagram, and a large one stands out for the wrong reason.

A workable rule is to aim for something in the range of two to five times your own recent average on the posts you choose to push, rather than a round number chosen from a price list. If your posts normally get 15 reactions, 50 to 80 on an announcement reads as a post that landed. Five hundred does not.

Order gradually, not all at once

This matters more on Facebook than anywhere else, because of the re-surfacing behaviour described above. Facebook keeps a post in circulation while engagement continues to arrive. A single spike of 300 reactions in ten minutes is one burst of signal; the same 300 delivered across two days is a sustained one, and the post stays in feeds correspondingly longer.

Where a gradual or drip-feed option exists on the service, it is the better choice for exactly this reason — and it is also the option that looks least conspicuous to anyone reading the post.

Combining reactions with paid boosts

If you intend to put ad money behind a post, the sequence is worth getting right: build organic engagement first, then boost. Facebook's ad auction accounts for engagement rate when pricing delivery, so a post that already shows social proof tends to be cheaper to distribute than an identical post with nothing on it.

It also converts better for the obvious human reason: an ad showing 4 reactions gets ignored, and the same ad showing 180 does not.

What reactions will not do

They will not build your Page following — that is a separate service. They will not rescue a post that nobody found interesting; Facebook watches whether real people engage after the paid ones arrive, and if nobody does, circulation stops. And they will not do anything at all on a post whose audience is set to anything other than public.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose the reaction type?

Where a service offers it, the reaction type is named in the service title. Otherwise the default is a standard like.

Does this work on group posts?

Only if the group is public. Private group content is not reachable.

Will it extend the life of the post?

It can. Facebook re-surfaces posts that are still gathering engagement, so reactions arriving over time have a longer effect than a single spike.
